MultiAuto reads stored, pending, and permanent emissions-related trouble codes. Common codes get a plain-English summary; manufacturer-specific codes get an honest fallback instead of a fabricated definition.

Private by design. No cloud involved.
No account, ads, analytics, tracking, telemetry, or cloud backend. Recordings, exports, and reports are created only when you ask and stay on your device unless you share them.

Adapters
Wi-Fi ELM327 support, stated plainly
MultiAuto connects to generic Wi-Fi ELM327 adapters over local TCP. The Veepeak VP01 is the primary development adapter, not a formally certified one. Bluetooth adapters are not supported in this version.

MultiAuto's diagnostics are free forever: connect an adapter, read and safely clear standard codes, view live data, freeze frame, readiness, and VIN — no account, no ads. MultiAuto Pro ($4.99/month or $29.99/year) adds ownership tools: unlimited vehicle profiles, the custom dashboard editor, session recording, and CSV export. Every free user also gets two Pro Days a month with no payment method. You still buy the physical adapter separately from a third party.
Limits
What MultiAuto does not do
A scanner that overpromises is a scanner you can't trust. Being straight about the limits is part of the product.
No advanced vehicle changes
MultiAuto can safely clear standard emissions-related codes. It does not perform coding, resets, actuation, key programming, or ECU flashing.
No Bluetooth adapters
Wi-Fi ELM327 only in this version. Bluetooth LE and Bluetooth Classic are both unsupported.
No manufacturer modules
Standard engine OBD-II only. ABS, airbag, transmission, and body modules are not covered.
No AI diagnosis
MultiAuto reports readings and stored codes. It does not guess at a failed part or prescribe a repair.

- Do I need a separate adapter?
- For a real vehicle, yes. Plug a third-party Wi-Fi ELM327 adapter into the car and join its local Wi-Fi network. We do not sell adapters. Demo mode works without an adapter, car, network, or permission. See How it works for the full picture.
- Which adapters work?
- MultiAuto supports generic Wi-Fi ELM327 adapters over local TCP. It defaults to the Veepeak VP01 endpoint 192.168.0.10:35000 and accepts a custom host and port. Bluetooth LE and Bluetooth Classic are not supported. Check the adapter compatibility table for details.
- Does it need internet access?
- No. A real connection uses the Wi-Fi adapter's local network, which normally has no internet access. Demo mode needs no network at all.
- Is my vehicle data collected?
- No. MultiAuto has no account, cloud service, ads, analytics, tracking, or telemetry. Recordings, exports, reports, profiles, and dashboards stay on the iPhone unless you choose to share them. Full details are in the privacy policy.
- Can it clear trouble codes?
- Yes. MultiAuto can safely clear standard emissions-related codes through a guarded confirmation flow. Clearing does not repair a fault and can remove useful diagnostic evidence, so read the Safety guidance first.
